Kartica van der Zon

Kartica van der Zon is a PhD candidate at the Child Law department of Leiden Law school. She received her LLM from the VU University Amsterdam where she took part in the master programme ‘International Law’ (2008).

Kartica has worked at the University of Amsterdam where taught youth and family law. From 2009-2011 she worked as a legal advisor for the Dutch NGO Defence for Children-International. In September 2011 she became a PhD Fellow at Leiden University, teaching classes in child law and writing a PhD on the legal position of children in the Dutch foster care system.
