Cristina Azzarello

Ms. Azzarello holds a Master’s Degree in Law from Bocconi University in Milan and completed part of her studies at Freie University in Berlin. She also holds an Advanced Master’s Degree in European and International Human Rights Law from Leiden University.

She is in the process of qualifying as a lawyer in Italy and is currently employed by the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, in the Rule of Law and Democracy Section, in Geneva.

She is passionate about civil rights and in particular issues related to accountability of non-State actors under international human rights law, international humanitarian law and women’s rights issues. In Geneva, she is collaborating with Amnesty International and Trial International, as a volunteer.
