Gerrie Lodder holds degrees in political science and international law. Since November 2000 she has been employed at the Institute of Immigration Law as a researcher and teacher.
In the past Gerrie Lodder has worked as a legal advisor for the Refugee Council in Rotterdam and the Dutch Refugee Council. Together with other staff members she teaches several courses at Leiden University, including the English spoken courses European Migration Law and Migration Law and Policy in the EU. Gerrie Lodder frequently lectures in post academic courses or courses offered by third parties. She conducts research for third parties on the subjects of Dutch- and European immigration law. and started a Phd research on the topic of exploitation of labour migrants in the Netherlands.
