Ilektra Antonaki graduated from the University of Athens in 2012 (cum laude, 1st rank). In 2013, she obtained her Master 2 in Public International Law from the University Panthéon-Assas (Paris II) and in 2014 she completed the Advanced LLM in European and International Business Law at Leiden Law School (cum laude, 1st rank). During her postgraduate studies at Leiden University, she participated in the 2013-2014 Talent Programme of the Graduate School of Legal Studies and she also has considerable mooting experience.
As a Meijers PhD Candidate, she is conducting legal research on the free movement of capital. In particular, her research aims to investigate whether capital liberalisation can be reconciled with the objective of a social market economy in the EU.
