Marieke Dubelaar

Marieke Dubelaar is Assistant Professor of Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure at the Institute of Criminal Law and Criminology at Leiden University. She is also a research fellow in the research programme Criminal Justice: Legitimacy, Accountability and Effectivity.

Research
Her research interests lie in the field of evidence, criminal procedure and comparative criminal law. Marieke Dubelaar publishes mostly on the topic of (Dutch) criminal evidence law.

Ancillary positions
Marieke Dubelaar is since 2015 a deputy judge in the criminal chamber of the Court of Appeal in Amsterdam. From 2008 to 2015 she was deputy judge at the District Court of Den Hague. Furthermore, she’s editor of a Dutch journal on evidence and forensic expertise (‘Recht en Expertise’) and assistant editor the Dutch Commentary on Criminal Law and Criminal Procedural Law (‘Tekst en Commentaar Strafrecht & Strafvordering).
