Marielle Koppenol-Laforce

Marielle Koppenol-Laforce has been a lecturer at the Institute for Private Law, which forms part of Leiden University, since September 2005, and Professor of International Commercial Contract Law since 1 February 2010. Before that she was a (senior) university lecturer on Private International Law at Erasmus University Rotterdam (1985-2000). In 1997 she obtained her doctorate at this university with a thesis on 'The Hague Trust Convention'. In addition to her professorship, she has been a partner at the law firm Houthoff Buruma since 2002 where she is part of the Dispute Resolution practice group.
