Thyla Fontein is a bachelor student of International Business Law at Leiden University. In January 2014 she completed the IBL course Corporate Social Responsibility, after which she was invited to submit a blog to Leiden Law Blog.
Thyla Fontein completed an LL.M. in Public International Law at Leiden University as well as a bachelor in Criminology. To date, she completed internships with the International Bar Association, the International Criminal Court, the Special Court for Sierra Leone and the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia. As a student assistant at the department of Public International Law at Leiden University, she conducts research for Dr. R. Heinsch and Professor M. Ignatieff. She is also part of the Supervisory Board of Choice for Youth and Sexuality, a youth-led organization that promotes and supports sexual and reproductive health and rights of young people worldwide.
