Timo Slootweg studied Philosophy and History. He taught Philosophy of History in Rotterdam. Since 2004 he has been teaching Philosophy of Law and Ethics at the University of Leiden. His dissertation dealt with the ethical meaning of time, history and historical consciousness in the philosophies of Hegel, Heidegger and Derrida (2000). His recent publications are concerned with the relation between Law and Love; Decision and the Person; Judgment and Conscience; Christian Existentialism and Personalism; and Dialectical and Dialogical theology.
