Esmée van Tienhoven

Esmée van Tienhoven obtained her Bachelor degree in Political Culture from Maastricht University where she wrote her thesis on civil disobedience and mobilizations of irregular migrants in Europe. She did a minor in international relations and European Law at Corvinus University Budapest and completed the first year of Criminology at Leiden Law School where she organised and participated in several study related activities. Throughout her academic career she became interested in the functioning of the international criminal justice system and the comparative aspect between countries in particular. As an MSc student of Criminal Justice much of her research focuses on this area.
