Hetty graduated in Notarial Law and Jurisprudence and Philosophy of Law from Leiden Law School. During her master’s, she studied for a semester as an exchange student at Stellenbosch University, South Africa.
She has been a PhD Candidate and junior lecturer at the Department of Civil Law since November 2011. She is writing a dissertation on health purchase agreements. These contracts between health insurers and care providers constitute links in the national healthcare system.  To what extent and in what way are the contractual rights and obligations of health insurers and healthcare providers influenced by public law Acts, sector-specific market regulation, competition law or more in general the right to healthcare, the public interest or interests of the insured persons concerned?
