Chloé Simonis (LL.B.) obtained her bachelor’s degree in Law from Leiden University in 2013. During her bachelor she volunteered at a non-profit organization that provides legal advice to children and young adults. At this organization she was also the chair of the congress and manifestation committee. Currently she is doing the master’s specialization in Child Law at Leiden University. Master students in Child Law followed the course Privatissimum Jeugdrecht under the supervision of Prof. Ton Liefaard, Yannick van den Brink (LL.M., MA) and Kartica van der Zon (LL.M.). In this context, students were asked to write a blog text about the new Dutch penal law for adolescents. The best blog would be published on the website of Leiden University. Chloé Simonis’ blog was selected as the ‘winning blog’. Therefore, she was invited to publish her blog text on the Leiden Law Blog.
