Bart Collard (1988) focuses on terrorism, animal rights (including human rights), organized crime, (counter-)surveillance and football hooliganism. He studied Criminology at the Leiden University (BA) and Investigative Criminology at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (MA). He worked as a police inspector with the Amsterdam police force (RPAA) from 2006 until 2017. Since 2018 he is a researcher and lecturer at the Police Academy of The Netherlands. He is currently working on his dissertation on the role of religion within contemporary terrorism. Collard also hosts www.devegansoof.nl, a philosophical website regarding animal ethics, on which he is one of the primary essayists.
