Dirk J.G. Visser (1969) graduated from Leiden University in 1992 where he subsequently lectured and researched, obtaining his Ph.d with a dissertation on copyright in the digital environment in 1997. He was appointed full Professor of intellectual property law at Leiden University in 2003. Dirk was admitted to the bar and joined the Stibbe firm in 1996. As a litigator in the field of intellectual property he handles cases involving trademark, copyright, internet and technology related issues. In 2015 Dirk founded his own firm in Amsterdam, Visser Schaap & Kreijger. He is the author of numerous scientific as well as popular books and articles on intellectual property
