Jessie Pool is a Ph.D.Fellow at the Company Law Department of Leiden University. Her empirical research focuses on directors’ duties and liability in the pre-insolvency stage from three perspectives: the insolvency practitioner (trustee), the supervisory judge and the judge. Jessie obtained her double bachelor’s degree in Dutch Law and Economics & Business Economics at the Erasmus University Rotterdam in 2016. In January 2018, she obtained her master’s degree in company law at Leiden University (cum laude). During her study, she has followed several internships at international law firms at the insolvency law and financial law practices. She has worked as a court clerk at the insolvency department of the court of Rotterdam and she has also contributed to a research project at KPMG, which project has enlarged her experience with empirical research methods. Jessie first worked as a student assistant at Leiden University where she contributed to the launch of the Business & Liability Research Network.
