Jing Zhang is a PhD Candidate at Leiden Law School, who comes from China. His research mainly involves property law and contract law. It deals with the rationale of publicity and concerns the fundamental aspects of registration and possession within the law of property. In his research, he tries to analyse the structure of private law (rights).
Jing is also very interested in the inter-disciplinary study between law and other subjects, such as philosophy and economics. He believes that positive study alone cannot reveal the whole mystery of law, and that the normative method is of great value.
Jing tries to promote the comparative study between Chinese and Dutch private law. He believes that legal comparative study, though having its limits, has one big strength: finding a superior approach to similar problems.
