Thy Pham studied Public Administration (with a master’s in Governance and Law) and Dutch law (with a master’s in Company Law). She obtained her doctorate from Erasmus University Rotterdam on an empirical study of directors’ and officers’ liability (2017). In her dissertation: Directors’ liability. A legal and empirical study, she investigated under what conditions and why directors are impacted by directors’ liability risks in making business decisions. Moreover, she developed a statistical probability model to provide insight into the factors Dutch civil courts base their decisions on to adjudicate or reject directors’ liability. Before entering academia, Thy started her career in strategy consultancy where she developed a special interest for understanding decision makers and decision making in relation to legal and institutional constraints. In her current work she devotes herself to interdisciplinary research in the field of corporate governance, directors’ liability, corporate litigation and M&A.
